Your TEACHER, I wont give him the honor of calling him a professor, is an idiot. The progression is really this:
1) Junior programmers begin with the tool used where they landed a job.
2) Then after learning the basics they make more money and take more
integral roles on a project team.
3) After they master their tool, they either go pro as an independent or go
to another company to take a senior position....
Once again, your teacher is an idiot. Does he teach at WCU? We live pretty close to each other.
>I was hoping that someone else would answer your question. I also thought your question would spawn more of a thread. I am taking night classes for UML and modelling and have a professor who is very biased against VFP and very pro VB. He explained to the class the following progression:
>
>1) Junior programmers begin with tools like MS access
>2) Then after learning the basics they move to a language like VFP
>3) After mastering VFP they move onto the real language - VB.
