Hi,
I have a new desktop computer at work, it's a PIII-450Mhz. It has 64M of RAM and a 8G hard drive. Windows 98. We have a couple of rather large applications written in FoxPro for Windows 2.6a, using Stonefield DataDictionary and Application Dictionary tools. I have already used the patch for fast computers from Microsoft's web site. I can start up FoxPro just fine. But if I try to modify project, whether from Stonefield's Application/Modify... menu or from the command window, I get an I/O Operation Failure. I can run the application if it is already compiled, but I cannot compile it. And the application behaves abnormally and errors out.
Does anyone have a solution for this other than Microsoft's patch? Right now I have two computers on my desk. My boss wants me to use just the new computer, but until we can find a fix for this I can't. I the company decides to roll out a new wave of desktops for everyone it would be a disaster with this problem happening.
Please help if you can!
Dana
