I have been asked to write an EDI messaging engine to permit data exchange between our system, and a British Insurer who used the ABI BrokerNet PROP5.2 EDI messaging standard. I have obtained all of the code lists, segment and element details in a standard pack.

However, there is no information in the pack regarding the structure and syntactical conventions of the message itself - it presumes you are already familiar with EDI.

The EDI format used is apparently the UNGTDI standard (UN apparently standing for United Nations). Does anyone know of this standard and if so, could they point me to a source of documentation to allow me to learn how the standard works and messages are constructed?
