I tried to do a backup & restore. Received an error:

Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQL State 42000)

An internal consistency error occurred.

Any help appreciated.

>7.0 makes it much easier. As long as both the character set and sort order are the same, you should be able to restore a backup from one server to another. Also, make sure that you have enough disk space on the second server.
