There is a famous programmer who worked on the game Quake, Brian Hook. He's very similar to you in that he's extremely opinionated, but his arguments in places like this are based on technical issues.

I can't remember the other guy's name, but he worked at MS on DirectX and was booted out for some reason. After his tenure at MS he would occasionally write magazine articles.

Brian Hook would typically have a response after every article by the ex-Ms guy. Brian's point of view coming from a programmer who has done or tried to do the stuff the MS guy is talking about from a theoretical perspective.

The point is, about a year ago, the ex-MS guy wrote a big article trying to say why DirectX is so much better than OpenGL. Brian wrote a rebuttal the next day, that started out something like:

"I wish people would quit asking this guy questions. Everytime he posts a response I have to stop whatever I'm doing to set the record straight"

He then went on to rip every technical point the ex-MS guy made. Usually starting off each paragraph like:

"You're comment .......... is about the dumbest F.....ing thing I've ever read"

The next day Brian posted something else. He must have gotten called on the carpet by someone. He said he could have been more politically correct the day before. So this post went something like:

"When I wrote: "You're comment .......... is about the dumbest F.....ing thing I've ever read", I probably should have stated: "Excuse me but your statement is totally incorrect".

Anyways, at least when I read your posts, I know I'm going to get some technical knowledge from them. Also, I getting some information from someone whose trying to make use of what a tool offers. Not take old knowledge and force something to conform to what he already knows.
