From my experience, most of the type of equations that you might find in a packaged dll or COM object will be VERY expensive. Generally, amortization, future and present value routines, and the types of things that are found in every day calculators are simple enough to roll your own (especially since you have VFP's built in functions). There are other financial equations however that are extremely complex in nature, and the packages on the market that I have seen to do these things cost many thousands of dollars.

>Having been given the proverbial "needle in a haystack" search, let me clarify what it is my employeer wants. We have the equations to create the code in-house if need be, but would prefer a prepackaged COM object, etc to plug into the application. We are still waiting to hear back from the client on exactly what calculators they desire to have in the application. I am not personally working on this application, so I do not know the details of it other than it is finacial in nature. Basically what my employeer wants is a pre-made package of financial calculators to use in applications that is not too wildly expensive.

>>1. If your needs are small, you can usually find the equations in a book, and coding up an equation can be faster than linking in a complex app that does more than you need. I have many of the equations if you want to do it that way.
>>
>>2. Excel has a large number of financial functions built in, so if you don't want to code them, you can instantiate an invisible Excel object w/CreateObject and call its formulas. There is a gotcha here, though. The client has to have installed the financial options in Excel (can really kill their free demo when they download it and it won't work).

>>Hope this helps.

>>>I am looking for modules which perform finacial calculations (such as those loan calculators found on many automobile websites) for use in an application my employeer is developing. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
