'SCAN FOR' vs 'LOCATE FOR'

SCAN FOR will go on finding all records that fits the FOR clause starting at the beginning of the table(the books says). While LOCATE will stop at the first one it finds. If you have an index, LOCATE should be faster but I never actually tried to evaluate the difference.

I know that, when I use SCAN, I feeel the difference in the speed of my programs. On small dataset, the difference would be minimal.
