Melissa,

Well, when it comes to vague requests from employers about products you aren't even working on, you have my complete empathy :).

More on the serious side, I did a quick search on dogpile.com on ActiveX+Financial and hit the following download site:

http://www.componentsource.com/asp/CSProdPhase1.asp?URL=CSGroupTypes.asp?Cats=N&Level=1

Perhaps this will give you the chance to provide your employer with some options that will assist in clarifying needs.

Good luck!

>Having been given the proverbial "needle in a haystack" search, let me clarify what it is my employeer wants. We have the equations to create the code in-house if need be, but would prefer a prepackaged COM object, etc to plug into the application. We are still waiting to hear back from the client on exactly what calculators they desire to have in the application. I am not personally working on this application, so I do not know the details of it other than it is finacial in nature. Basically what my employeer wants is a pre-made package of financial calculators to use in applications that is not too wildly expensive.

>>1. If your needs are small, you can usually find the equations in a book, and coding up an equation can be faster than linking in a complex app that does more than you need. I have many of the equations if you want to do it that way.
>>
>>2. Excel has a large number of financial functions built in, so if you don't want to code them, you can instantiate an invisible Excel object w/CreateObject and call its formulas. There is a gotcha here, though. The client has to have installed the financial options in Excel (can really kill their free demo when they download it and it won't work).
>>
>>Hope this helps.

>>>I am looking for modules which perform finacial calculations (such as those loan calculators found on many automobile websites) for use in an application my employeer is developing. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
