>Ed, you're on the right track, but not quite! The DeleteFolder method of the Scripting.FileSystemObject deletes the folder in any case, whether there are files/subfolders in it or not. So, no need for recursion.

As you point out, nd as previously pointed ou by Ken Weber, you're 100% correct - the VBScript version 5 is reliably recursive, so my code is completel unneeded, unless you only want selective deletions to be done. My mistake for not staying current!

Absolutely! On top of the WSH objects and Shell.Object, I'm really looking forward to ADSI and the WMI. It should make administration and network tasks infinitely easier, and will depend less on ones ability to exploit the API directly.
My installs now incorporate the WSH as a matter of course - it's just too valuable to do without. I'm thinking seriously of adding Dino Esposito's WSHKit to the mix.
