I can't say that I exactly understand what's going on but I can add another piece of information.

I've notice that the BatchUpdatecount property affects how VFP & ODBC submit queries to the server. When BatchUpdatecount is set to it's default value, 1, update queries are submitted using the sp_executesql stored procedure. When I BatchUpdatecount to 10, the update queries were submitted in a single batched wrapped with the sp_prepare/sp_unprepare system stored procedures. I'm guessing that this is why you're seeing the results that you're seeing.

BTW, I'd like to look at this a little further. Would you mind sending me an example that demostrates the whole issue?
