Those on the mailing list or the Universal Thread Navigator will see what you entered. But, on the Web, it will be interpreted as HTML and not seen if not recognized as a valid HTML. When using this syntax, you need to use the appropriate syntax which consist of the ampersand character followed by gt or lt.
