Wim,
>I want to know this becourse management here wants those reports for evaluation of the current softwaretool.

>I do disagree with the future of VFP beeing the same as other products. Look at Visual Basic. It's all around us. C++ is a core product. I Don't see much about VFP in the news.
VB ? Well I don't see it that often.. Remember that VB is a general purpose language and VFP is a pure DMBS language.
>Also saying there are to many developers is not a good reason imho. Java has a LOT of developers. And where is MS J++ ????
I doubt if there are a lot of MS J++ developers. There are many software vendors with their own Java dialect. MS must have a reason to discontinue the Java language.
>I do agree that the product is a part of visual studio and is THE tool for me and the company. Only those F*.. managers should need that knowledge.
Of course you can state that VFP is the best choice between MS access and SQL-server. And even using SQL server VFP would shine.
I can only refer to the following dutch companies who use VFP in their products:
- Accountview, developed by ridit(?)
- Exact Software uses add ons written in FP/VFP
- Grote Beer has written numerous applications within VFP.
- DSB and Delta Lloyd uses FPW/VFP systems for decision support
Maybe you could contact them and ask them why they do use VFP.
I'm sure there are others.
By the way..., Heerde, where is that on the dutch map ??
