It will be nothing which exists now.

I have a feeling that the Linux crowd will come up with a high-level database development language/tool (I hope) within a few years. I will use VFP until then or some other reasonable alternative comes along.

I have grown to really dislike Microsoft - I use their products only because they are currently the best game in town - this will change dramatically within 3-5 years. IMHO, nobody should rely on Microsoft for anything in the medium-long term.
