Walter...
Often, folks need to get third-party prounouncements with regard to the future of a product. The case is clear for languages like VC or VB. If you think the future is vague for VB, you have had your head in the sand.
For VFP, it is a difficult task to get this kind of info, at least postitive info. Don't go to Gartner, there is nothing positive on VFP there. Honestly, I don't know where you would go..
Folks inside a dev community are biased. Of course they are going to write glowingly about their tool. The only stuff of value is what 3rd. parties do.
I could tell you I am the best developer in the world. Are you going to take my word for it. No... You are going to check my references.. Software tools are no different.

>Independ artiles about long term support for VFP? IMO MS is the only source that *can* (but of course will not.. as for every development tool) give you this.

>Like you would suspect the technical support will be here on the UT even *IF* MS will stop supporting VFP within a few years.

>Let me ask a question: Why do you want to know this ? The future of VFP is just as sure as any other (MS) development tool (maybe except for visual C++). VFP 7 is scheduled for late next year.

>IMO there is no need to fear for the VFP future. There are simply too many VFP developers (and applications) around.
