>>How can someone independent of MS write something about the future of an MS tool? Heck, even MS doesn't know what the future will be, they only know what they are doing right now. I am sure they are constantly reevaluating their products and a decision could be made to mmorow that no one knows about. Look at J++... no one was saying J++ is a dead product.

>And only one source has said that. I have yet to see it in the major industry trades such as InfoWorld and PCWeek.
I think the Gartner groupd is sort of like Greenspan... if Greenspan says the market is going to crash to 5000 then it WILL!
If Gartner came out and gave a glowing review to VFP, stated that this is the tool to use for Middle Tier and Front End business applications... it's market share would shoot up so fast! I think when a person or group has enough power to make their 'predictions' true due to the following they have, then they should keep thier mouth SHUT!!!
Imagine is some big automaotive watchdog came up and siad they revied FORD, and there manuafcturing plants are out of date, errors are happening, saftey fetures are being missed, and that withing 5 years FORD will be out of business, so don't buy a FORD... if the majority of people listen to them, it would happen, FORD would go out of business!
