An email was broadcast at my work today. A corporation with over 10,000 employees with over 3,500 computers:

- effective immediately all attachments will be deleted from emails by the server
- no access to the web for browsing or ftp (Dec 24 to Jan 4)
- all modems to be unpluged (Dec 24 to Jan 4)
- no emails internal or external (Dec 24 to Jan 4)

Needless to say, I am meeting with the manager of the microcomputer group tomorrow morning.

I think I know the guy that convinced the VP's to do this. He is the same guy that set the policy to have passwords expire ever 6 weeks.
