>>My corporate IS dept. is rolling out SMS across my company and I'm starting to have all kinds of problems with my VFP6.0 SP3 app. It doesn't crash necessarily, it just hangs, usually before a DO FORM call. I suspected SMS because there were many other problems associated with SMS such as (memory and 95 boxes crashing), so I de-installed SMS client from the boxes that were hanging and Viola! everything works fine. Does anyone know if there are known problems with using SMS w/VFP6.0 SP3,95-B boxes? Thanks for any information!
Hi David,
I did re-install the VFP runtime files when I first starting having the problems with no luck, so that's when I removed SMS from a couple of client machines to test if SMS (or any associated file(s)) was the problem. All worked well after removing SMS, but I haven't re-installed SMS back on those clients yet. I will re-install SMS, and then once again re-install VFP runtime and see if things still works okay. I'll let you know how it goes. I know SMS loads a load of DLLs and I'm just wondering if one of those is conflicting with one in my application. I do incorporate ActiveBAR,Crystal 7.0, and a few other ActiveX controls. Is there a way to determine which applications share which DLLs? I know I'm reaching here, but I can't make any sense out of this yet...
Thanks for your response.
John.
