Yes and no. C++ is a superset of straight C. This is hard to explain, and perhaps, due to my limited knowledge in this area, I might not be the best person to do it.

The best way I can think of is to share one of my experiences in a round about fashion. If you give the main source file an extension of simply "c" it compiles one way. Give it a "cpp" extension it compiles another. One extension will compile and run fine. The other will generate more compilation errors than you'd ever care to try to resolve. My guess is that the compiler(s?) handle things in a completely different fashion. This is exactly what happened when I wrote the lnkfiles.dll, and has happened in other projects I've tried.

Does that help?
George
