Yeah, unfortunately the KVM is also rated at a certain resolution (lower than your monitor, of course)

I have my (ATI) resolution set to 1024x768 on a 15" monitor. (and we don't have vision coverage!) My other computer has a Matrox video card, which allows a virtual desktop of 1600x1200 on a smaller actual desktop. While this isn't quite as good as dual monitors, it's a neat trick. (i could never get used to it though)

I find personally: the larger workspace, the bigger the mess.
