Also, for screen shots, it is really helpful to have something other than just PrintScrn available. I use something that I downloaded from ZDNET called HotShot, which allows you to take a snap shot of a portion of the screen. Seems to work well, and is easily worth the $30.00 or so shareware cost

I've used Snap32... I think it has the option to automatically capture a screen at given intervals. (while not an actual movie, it's useful to record a whole operation, then pick the image you want to put into documentation)

Another useful function of Snap32 is the ability to "snap" your selection area to the window size, rather than the whole desktop - useful for documentation because you don't have to crop your image after you take it.
