re: Quick Launch

You could drag it from your desktop to the quick launch area.
To delete it, just right click and choose delete on the icon to be removed.

I think what you want to know is where those icons live:
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

I was suprised to find it there myself...
