It seems I can't insert more than about 120 characters into a SQL Server 7 TEXT field from a VFP MEMO field without getting a return error from SQLEXEC. Anything less than about 120 characters works. If I run the update query in the Query Analyzer it works for any length string I pass to it. Looking at the update string with DEBUGOUT appears OK.
