I tried your suggestion, but I still got the error, I fixed the problem by releasing all references made to any excel object, before I call the applications quit method

For example

If you had created a reference within your program to a worksheet object

oWorksheet=oexcel.worksheets(1)
This reference must be released before we can release the excel object.
