Well, if you assume that there won't be a lot of changes in VFP7, he can write the book under 6, then when the beta comes out, check everything to make sure it still works, and take advantage of anything really neat that was just added. Besides, Distributed Development sounds like there'd be a lot of MTS, ADO, MSMQ... all stuff that doesn't rely on the next version of VFP.
