Hi Dan,
Over the last 3-4 years, I've made some interesting observations concerning this
Fox Is Dead crap:
[1] Those who usually post the initial message are not UT regulars - I like to call them
hit & run posters. They are rarely seen again.
[2] The content / wording of their intial posts are strikingly similar in almost every case.
[3] It always comes in waves as is the case at present. Many times, someone will begin a new thread at the same time when there are similar threads in process.
[4] These threads are
never started after a new version / service pack of VFP has just been released.
[5] These threads are
never started (or they end quickly) when members of the Fox Team are
browsing the UT or are active in posting.
These are my observations, not my opinions. The intial posts can be accurately
profiled into a couple of categories - this I find extremely amusing.
BTW, I'm gonna join the LA FUG soon - should have done it a long time ago. Hope to meet some of you guys.
>On the home page of UT, say something along the lines "Fox alive and kicking" and add links to prominent members of the community, such as Ken Levy's take on the "Fox is dead.", maybe a link to Jim Booth's take, if he was willing to set up a page on his web site. I think we're all tired of the "VFP is Dead" nonsense.
