You are right, as you already know. But there also some situatios where you need the Object reference included even though the VFP control does not have the same name in use. One example is the Calendar 8.0 control where the Value property gives problems. The VFP OLEControl does not have a Value property but for some reason if you try to reference the calendar's value property directly you get an error and the error doesn't occur if you use the Object keyword in the reference to the calendar's value property.
