>yes, i also agree excel can be used which i did using PivotTable ocx with Office 2000 in simple cases. but my inventory program involves crosstabulation and is using _vfpgentab because of the dynamic columns involved and being presented. but its hard to present the complicated data and variablesinvolved here. but my point is that i have limitation with my report heading using vfp report designer. so i thought of exploring some commercial applications.

I'm not aware of a report writer that can do this, but as I said, you can do it in Excel via Automation. This would work, even with your complicated data.
