>You aren't kidding about it being out of their scope. I messed up by thinking outside of the box. When you do this IS can't charge hundreds of hours to set up one little query. We have a big meeting on it on monday. Anxious to see how things work out.

Joshua,

These Mainframe-Win32 projects are very exciting ground. The company here had no seriuos plans to change their MRP system (a CA-CAS mainframe system) because they don't know how, they trying Oracle but all this attempts are still on its infancy. So they know now that they can leverage their actual system and buy some time using these Mainframe-Win32 type of applications, that by the way are very stable, safe, reliable and 100% scalable.

Can you imagine on the shop floor a worker in the line trying to feed the main frame thru countless screens and jumping thru many mainframe safety warnings, errors ,etc while the production is hanging untill he finish to fill the proper transaction and to go to the next Job of a work order?? all that can be easily done using Win32 applications, and the best of all the mainframe will get updated on time and accuratelly.

We had worked on a Hibrid multi tier system, the SQL data, the Win32 presetation objects, the business objects, the connection objects and the mainframe data, saving hundreds of dollars on Rumba licencing because we just need 1 or 2 connection objects to handle the transacions of many plants, also savings on mainframe connections fees and streamlining all the factory procceses.

And the main frame guys still can't belive it!!
