I thought of those. Autoyield is not needed. We got the control working. It was actually just a configuration problem. He walked me through a couple of things and we're running fine now.
He did test it with VFP.
If anyone needs to do TAPI stuff, I recommend TeleTools from
www.exceletel.com. The old version of the control we were using worked great. The problems came in putting in the current version and the associated changes in methods/properties. Their tech support was outstanding.
