I wasn't going to make this joke, but since this *is* the chatter category...
A fat client is one who pays you your $200 dollar/hour consulting fees, a thin client is one that argues over the $500 bill that you are charging to 50 hours of work over a single weekend to bail them out of a hard drive crash.
Alternately, a thin client is one that is connected by a minimum amount of bandwidth, whereas a fat client is one connected by a lot of bandwidth (Thin might be a modem, where fat might be a T3)
