Yeah there is a reason, that's the way ot was designed to work. I would assume (and I can only assumethios as I have no specific knowledge of teh design criteria) that the thoughts of the designers were that isf the programmer was going to call the Release method then they would have already decided it was ok to kill the form. However, the QueryUnload gives the developer an opportunity to respond to the mechanisms for killing a form that are not programmatic, like the user clicking the close button.
