/ I think the solution is very good. You can have a temp resource file / while print preview. If you put this in your framework, it's not big / deal. Make it read only or include it in the app. For preview, it could look like oldreso=set("reso") oldresf=set("reso",1) set reso to prevw.dbf set reso on ..(actual preview comes here) if oldreso="OFF" set reso off else set reso to (oldresf) endif Prevw.dbf would be the little resource file with proper settings.
