Dropping the back link will loose all long field names, long file names, rules, triggers, Priamry indexes, and everything else that is stored in the DBC for the table.

You can remove the backlink using the FREE TABLE command, but be aware that you have a lot more to do to restore the link than simply add the table back into the dbc.
