It almost sounds like your currency is related to your values, instead of the other way around. If you've programmatically set the relation, be sure the relation command is issued while the values table is being used. If the relation was set in the environment, try creating a like grid using the grid wizard to see if you get the same problem. You can always alter what you get later.
