What's dangerous is attempting to carry on a technical discussion when you base your arguments on an old-rev of the software.
It would be like saying "VFP does not support outer joins...". Of course it does, but in 3.0, it did not, and teh person making these statements is still in VFP 3.0. It is all about the frame of reference. No question that versions of SQL Server prior to 7.0 where a pain to use. The fact is, it is not a pain to use anymore. And, as far as performance and scaleability go, that has been addressed, and is continually being addressed.
