My final approach was similar. Break it down into the very basics, and build up from there, (sometimes I forget that is what programming is all about!)

My question was not so much with the .RTF, as it was with how to get rid of it after the fax was sent. If the sequence of code in the Fax routine runs, even though I have the command to send the fax before the command to delete my temp .RTF, it takes a little while for the fax to convert the attachment and get sent, so the .RTF file gets deleted before the entire result of the previous command is complete.

I tried using the DDERequest/Status function, but I haven't figured out how to make it tell me when the fax is complete.

This was my first design, and it worked fine until I noticed that all documents were being printed Portrait, regardless of the built in print layout. This was the only problem with this approach, but it was pretty signifigant.
