Hi Jim

Thats exactly the way I tried it first time (although using letters rather than numbers originally) and I found I got inconsistent behaviour. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes not. Seemed to depend where the cursor was at the time I tried the 'ALT+whatever'. Figured the OKL would 'force' the issue regardless of field type or contents and it does.

But in any case, even if I could make it work that simply, I would stll be grateful for some insight into the quasi 'out of scope' behaviour I'm getting with the more long winded approach. Even if I can solve this particular problem with better quicker coding, there are bound to be future occasions on which I want to call a method from the global application object which refers to the current form I'm working with.

Cheers

Harry
