Not sure on the menu, but when you refer to "buttons", I'm assuming you mean the toolbars. You can hide them with the syntax:

HIDE WINDOW "MyToolBarName"

e.g.

HIDE WINDOW "Standard"

will hide the VFP standard toolbar. You can reshow them with:

SHOW WINDOW "MyToolBarName"
