I currently have an application running in Foxpr0 2.6 for DOS under Windows 95 with a Windows NT 3.51 server. The application is very fast in this configuration. However, when I run it under Visual Foxpro everything works well except the printing speed. The program appears to take a long time to spool the reports. It easily takes 5 times longer in Visual Foxpro to complete the report. This slow down in printing speed is unacceptable to my clients. Is there some way to speed up printing? I s there a replacement for Print Manager?
The reports I tested are simple customer listings of about 60 pages. I ran the DOS Version and the Visual Foxpro versions on the same network, with identical machines at the same time. The DOS version was finished in about 60 seconds. The Visual Foxpro version was still only 15% complete.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have already read some of the suggestions in Microsoft's KB but I have already taken some of there suggestions with little effect.
