>>JVp was a credible poster and still is.

Thanks for the ringing endorsement...

Seriously though, your comments have a lot of merit. Unfortunately however, you have a certain group of folks up here that profess to have the answers and bill themselves as folks as such. While their intentions initially maybe good, they tend to fall into several categories, 3 of which are:

1. They cannot accept any critisim of their ideas when they have obvious flaws, and as such, always take it personally.
2. They cannot admit when they are incorrect.
3. They believe their purpose up here is validated by the quantity of posts, rather then the quality of their posts...

Well, the time has come to shut the door on these folks. It is tough, but in the end, a better forum results. The last few days have been pretty good. There are some folks that we are not hearing from that much, mostly because they are staying on the sidelines, where they belong most of the time.

If I have appointed myself as the protectorate of the newbies, so be it. Somebody needs to do it. Somebody needs to rat a bunch of these self-professed experts out, shame them publicly, and then go on. If they truly take the medicine, they will stay quiet. Hey, if any of them have a good idea and post it, I will be the first to give them credit. However, a lot of nonsense arises again, you can be sure a dose of JVP is on the way... I kept quite about a lot of this for far too long. As a sysop, I had to... That is one of the reasons I gave up the job...

So, your critisisms have been noted, and they have merit.... However, it is important for you, and everyone else to understand my viewpoint on this as well.

And to those who don't like this stance I am taking.... I am not doing it to garner approval. In fact, it may be one of the most unpopular jobs around. However, it needs to be done, sometimes harshly. Why? Because harshness is sometimes the only way to get heard.....

>>> JVp was a credible poster and still is. But when I find a "soap opera" going on, I really don't bother to look any further. So while there may have been solid technical advice, I don't see it because I moved on.
