Not likely. A bad disk wouldn't know how to delete a sing;e record, much less two or more adjacent records.
Every time we run into a seemingly unexplainable problem like this, our instinct is to think "voodoo": bad disk, OS bug, VFP bug, etc. But 99.9% of the time its something we've done, or haven't done. Usually ends up being a part of your software that was NEVER doing exactly what you thought it was doing, and so when some other outside factor chimed in, the misbehavior becomes obvious.
