When it wouldn't let me edit some of the variable names etc, I realized that I wanted an independent form and not a subclass. I read the message following yours from Nick and he gave me a suggestion for the independent form. I will try that tonite. If you have any other suggestions, I would love to see it.

The only way that I know to do this is by hacking the vcx. I wish I could remember the details of getting this done, but I have only needed to do it once, and it was a long time ago. the structure of a vcx and an scx is almost identical, but there are a few things you need to tweak.

I would start by creating a base class form with a single control on it, saving it to a class (in a library by itself), and then opening both the scx and vcx and comparing them to see what you need to do to the vcx to make it fit as an scx. It can be done, but it's going to be a pain.
