It's certainly possible to use Excel's automation model by pushing values through to an Excel sheet; it seems like overkill to do when you have IRR() available as a VB function. Just make an ActiveX control in VB6 with one method taking a SafeArray of values and returning the value from IRR() as a float. The VB6 docs include a sample of how to use IRR() within VB, and thjere's no need for Excel to make the thing work.
