Your feelings are your feelings.....

We will agree to disagree here....

>There were (and still are) several people that frequent UT that I feel played a HUGE part in my learning to use and learning to love VFP. Ed is right at the top of my list. If you click on my name and look at my message history starting in 1998, you'll see that my first months on UT were spent asking questions, not answering them. As he has done for countless other people, Ed was there to answer a ton of my questions, and bring to light a lot of concepts in VFP that were difficult for a beginner to grasp. I don't want to discount the roles that others played here, but if I name any I will surely accidentally leave some out.

>Many of Ed's methods are by no means orthodox, but he has a pretty good understanding of the nuts and bolts that hold VFP together, and more importantly he still spends time dispensing that understanding. Ed's historical post volume here (unlike many others) does not consist of a lot of messages in the chatter section, but are almost all replies to "How do I.." or "Why does this happen" questions. You may occasionally think that some of the strategies he recommends are not optimal but rarely (ever?) will you find one that is technically incorrect. I have watched Ed patiently coach some members through agonizingly long threads where many others would have given up getting a simple concept across (I won't mention names, but the pupil's initials are RK :-)).

>I think that Ed is near the top of the list of the most deserving MVPs, because of the very things that the MVP literature states that the program is for. He has probably helped more people online in the last few years than ANY other MVP has. Hats off, Ed.
