>As instructed my Microsoft support I copy the following file Vfp6r.reg to the user local drive and ran it. Prior to doing this my application ran just fine but now when we try to launch the application it says it can not find Visual FoxPro support libraries. I check in the Windows/System directory VFP6r.dll and VFP6renu.dll are there. Any idea as to what I need to do to correct this problem.

You did not make the necessary manual change to the VFP6R.REG file if you fire from outside the Setup Wizard; if you take a look at the .REG file, you'll find a line which reads:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VisualFoxProRuntime.6\shell\open\command = %s\VFP60.DLL %%1

%s is replced during a Setup Wizard installation with the install path of the VFP Runtime files. You need to fix this manually if you don't use Setup Wizard.

You'd be infinitely better off using Setup Wizard to at least create the needed runtime file deployment, even if you want to use another install tool to handle everything else. Regardless of what you might like to believe, and some frankly very bad advice given here and other places:
COPYING FILES IS NOT AN ADEQUATE INSTALL OF THE VFP6 RUNTIME

Contrary to popular mythology, we are not smarter than Setup Wizard as far as deploying the VFP6 runtime environment properly. Win2K is going to make installation much more problematic, as does NT now. I do a lot of installation work, using a nearly infinitely better install tool that I've invested a significant amount of time mastering, and I still use a Setup Wizard created runtime install which I fire from inside an InstallShield script. And I still have hair on top of my head...
