Wise has direct support for VFP6 installation built in; it's a fine alternative. I've found that people who start out saying "I've copied and run vfp6r.reg and it doesn't work" generally have not used a tool with the native support built-in.

Other tools that are capable of reading the VFP6R.DEP file and can be told what registry entries beyond self-registration are needed can handle this as well. People who still think that copying a few files into place ought to be enough can't, and haven't spent the time and effort that Wise (or the Setup WIzard) have in making OS platform and version related decisions properly.

Since I depend on a lot more stuff than what Wise handles without some intervention on the part of the programmer, already know and own InstallShield Pro, and had already worked out that I didn't have to worry about figuring out the runtime install by just dropping and firing a Setup Wizard generated runtime install from my scripts, it works for me. YMMV.
