Well, under 98 that's ("crapola") exactly what it is. Further, there's no corresponding registry key to the one you mentioned for NT. So, I imagine, that for Win 98, you almost have to rely on GetVersionEx() to differentiate between, Win 95, Win 95 OSR1, Win 98 and Win 98SE.
