Well..about the mid-80's, Miami went from sizzle to sleaze. One of the reasons I moved away and only come back when I have to. There are some of the most dishonest politicians I have ever seen in office here. In fact, one of the mayors of one of the suburbs here always gets accused of racketeering and always gets off and another was just arraigned for conspriacy to commit murder. It seems that the voters here keep voting these corrupt nutcases into office because, I guess, it's better the corrupt nutcase you know than the one you don't.

Also, (I'm gonna hear it on this one), most politicians in office here are Hispanic immigrants and politically to the right of Adolf Hitler. And they seem to forget that they immigrated here to escape totaltarianism and corruption.....so they tend to do things the good 'ol 3rd world way here....that is, when they are not too busy organizing anti-Castro demonstrations or passing resolutions denouncing Mandela for supporting Ortega and Castro.

This place is a political hell-hole.

>Luckily, I've been working at this place since August. There are a couple old DOS apps sitting around, that were fixed by Y2KFox. So I can concentrate on new stuff. I feel kinda relaxed while reading all the hoops people are jumping thru at the last minute now.

>On the lighter side, I read something the other day in the LA Times bout Miami. They have a list of blurbs in the sports section. There was a quote from one of the Miami scribes about Miami looking to build a new stadium. He mentioned something to the effect of "the most corrupt, dishonest, crime ridden city in the US - Miami." Are you guys trying to take over the title from LA?

>>Hi Folks,

>>One of the reasons my post count is way down lately is that I have been swamped with Y2K work the last few weeks from some unexpected sources. Apparently, a lot of companies are just now discovering these reliable FPD and FPW apps laying around that no one has bothered remediating.
>>
>>Is anyone else swamped by this now?
