I am embarking on a project to enhance our system to run Oracle as Backend server. I have surfed the oracle website and is confused by so many products they have. If I want to test my app. running under oracle, which database version I should look for (8i, 8i Lite etc.)Does oracle offer any desktop version like SQL Server which can be obtained free for developer?

Another question is, presently I use Stonefield to update my customers database. In future what product I can use to do the same for the Oracle or SQL Server?
