To install networking without a NIC, install the MS Loopback Adapter. As usual, from John Saville's NT FAQ at www.ntfaq.com:

Q. I do not have a network card, but would like to install TCP/IP.

A. Microsoft provide a Loopback adapter that can be used for the testing of TCP/IP. To install the Loopback adapter perform the following actions:

Start the Control Panel (Start - Settings - Control Panel)
Double click on the Network icon
Click on the Adapters tab, and click Add
Select MS Loopback Adapter and click OK
You will then need to configure TCP/IP as normal


Someday you guys will start looking here for easy WinNT/Win2K problems...
